Here at CandiNews Productions Safety and health are a top priority for us and we want all of our camp families to feel confident in their decision to participate in our in-person programs this summer, if they choose to do so.  At all times, but especially during this season, we all need to take steps to protect our health and the health of those with whom we come in contact. We are constantly monitoring public health pronouncements of various agencies and media sources and will be updating any safety guidelines and requirements as new information is shared by our local and federal leadership.

Below is a list of the current protocols and guidelines we are planning to follow for summer 2021 in-person programs.   We will also have paper copies of these guidelines and requirements available at each camp.

Please call or email us if you have any questions about participation in our activities, any special needs or medical conditions we should discuss prior to registering your child, or any general questions about the guidelines and safety requirements.

Activity Health & Safety Protocol:

As of February 2021 we plan to follow the same safety guidelines as Summer 2020, in accordance with the state of GA and Bright from the Start mandates for summer camp providers. This may be updated as new guidelines are issued in the coming months.

Campers will be dropped off and picked up outside the facility; parents must remain in their cars during carpool.

All staff and campers will be temperature checked upon arrival. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 and above will not be able to attend camp.

All staff will be health screened each day. As of February 2021 staff will wear an appropriate face covering, in consultation with their doctors.

Our performing arts camps are very active - similar to a sports camp in many ways.  Camp activities will be held outside as much as possible, but our class sizes are extremely reduced this year to ensure physical distancing in all activities held inside as well.

Camp groups will be kept extremely small -- currently capping at 15 campers per week to ensure physical distancing.

Campers will bring all of their own food & water from home.  Campers will bring reusable water bottles and will not drink from the spout at any public water fountains.

Camper belongings will be kept in separate containers.

Campers may wear masks if they choose to, but they are not required to wear masks.  As of February 2021 face coverings may be required for campers during carpool at some locations.  Plan on children wearing a face covering during carpool and walking through the host location hallways.  Once children are in their classrooms and physically distanced each child will have the freedom to keep on their covering or remove it, based on their family's instructions to their child. Because our camps are so active we want to give campers the option to wear a face covering or to remove it, depending on their individual health needs. We have significantly reduced our class sizes in order to ensure physical distancing to give families this option.  We believe parents should make the best decision for their child's health, in consultation with their doctor.

Campers will do hand washing/hand sanitizing every hour

Our staff will sanitize commonly touched surfaces before campers arrive and throughout the day, and deep clean each evening after the camp day ends

We will utilize spreading out with outside play as much as possible for our big active games!

During our inside rehearsal times, campers will have designated personal areas clearly marked to help maintain physical distancing between children while they are rehearsing and socializing.

Camp activities have been tweaked to ensure kids can have a great time and be safe!

Anyone who is sick will not be able to attend camp. If a camper becomes sick during the camp day their parents will be called to immediately pick up. Depending on the circumstances, we will consult with Department of Health for further steps for that camper or other campers in their group.

The end of week Camp Showcases will be held outside/inside (due to weather) on Friday afternoon so that family & friends can attend!

Masks throughout the camp day will not be required for campers.  Because our camps are so active we want to give campers the option to wear a face covering or to remove it, depending on their individual health needs.  We have significantly reduced our class sizes in order to ensure physical distancing to give families this option.  We believe parents should make the best decision for their child's health, in consultation with their doctor.  As such, we will not require campers to wear a face covering during the camp day once we are in our classrooms and able to physically distance.  Parents can decide if their child will wear a mask, face shield, gaiter, or other face covering, or to forgo a face covering once physically distanced for medical or religious exemptions.
